How it works with Mason Jars

The most common issue

1. Lid screwed on too tightly: The screw lid should only be lightly tightened during vacuum sealing. If it’s too tight, the vacuum sealer can’t draw air out of the jar. Tighten it only gently.

2. Jar too full: There needs to be some headspace in the jar so the vacuum sealer can draw out enough air. Especially with liquids or very dense foods, leave at least 2 cm of space below the top rim of the jar.

3. Check the sealing gasket: The most common issue is an incorrectly inserted gasket in your EcoSeal Pro. If it’s even slightly out of place, it can’t create an airtight seal. Remove the gasket completely and carefully re-insert it so it sits evenly. (See slider below)

4. Do not twist the device: Make sure not to twist the EcoSeal Pro while placing it on the jar, as this could unscrew the lid again.

5. Jar not compatible: Every EcoSeal Pro comes with three jars that are 100 % compatible. For all other jars, we can’t guarantee compatibility. To test a jar, place the sealer on the jar with the lid, switch it on, and lift the sealer while it’s running. If the jar lifts with it, the EcoSeal Pro is airtight and the jar is compatible; if not, it isn’t. More information

6. Wet rim or lid interior: Ensure the rim of the jar and the inside of the lid are dry so an airtight seal can form.

7. Fully charge the EcoSeal Pro: A low battery can affect performance. Fully charge the device before use.

8. Use/remove the adapter: By default, the EcoSeal Pro has an adapter for jars with small openings. For jars with larger openings, remove the adapter by twisting the lower part of the EcoSeal Pro to the left.
