FAQs
EcoSeal Pro
Mason Jars or VacuJars – which holds the vacuum the longest?
Both the VacuJars and Ball Mason Jars work reliably with the EcoSeal Pro and create a strong vacuum.
A small advantage of Mason Jars: Thanks to their two-piece lid (a flat vacuum disc plus a screw band), the vacuum often stays a bit longer with gas-producing contents (e.g. early fermentation). The band presses the disc down especially firmly, making it harder for the vacuum to release unintentionally.
👉 For the longest-lasting vacuum across all contents, Ball Mason Jars have a slight edge.
Which jars is the EcoSeal Pro compatible with?
With every EcoSeal Pro, we include perfectly fitting jars that are 100% compatible. We recommend using these jars to ensure smooth, hassle-free use.
In many cases, it also works with other standard preserving jars. A basic requirement is an outer opening diameter of about 6.5–7 cm or 8.3–8.8 cm.
Note: For jars not supplied by us, we unfortunately cannot guarantee compatibility. 👉 [More info]
Are the lids reusable?
Yes, the lids are reusable. The only important thing is that the rubber seal on the inside of the lid remains undamaged.
What foods does it work with?
In general, you can vacuum-seal anything that fits into a preserving jar. Whether it’s dry foods like spices, coffee, oats or nuts — or fresh foods, meat, or complete meals.
Important: With gas-producing contents (e.g. early fermentation), the vacuum may release over time. That’s normal.
Food safety: Vacuum sealing does not replace proper storage. Please continue to store foods appropriately (e.g. refrigerated for perishable products), keep things hygienic, and use your senses (smell/appearance). You can find more information here: Notes & Food Safety.
How long do vacuum-sealed foods keep?
Shelf life depends heavily on the food itself, its initial freshness, and storage conditions. As a rule of thumb, fresh foods often stay fresh 3–5× longer, while dry products like oats or coffee beans can last months to years when stored dry and in the dark.
Important: Vacuum sealing does not replace proper storage. Perishable foods still belong in the fridge, and hygiene as well as your own checks (smell/appearance) remain essential. You can find more information here: Notes & Food Safety.
Can I vacuum-seal soups and other liquids?
Yes, you can. But please be careful so that no liquid gets sucked into the EcoSeal Pro (this can damage the device). Always let liquids cool down first (do not vacuum-seal when hot) and don’t fill the jar too full.
Does the EcoSeal Pro protect against pests (e.g. moths)?
Yes! A properly sealed, airtight jar makes access significantly harder for pests (e.g. moths), and hardly any odors escape — which can reduce what attracts them. If there are already eggs/larvae in the product before sealing, a vacuum won’t automatically prevent that.
Can I put your jars in the freezer?
Yes. When freezing, be sure to leave a few centimeters of headspace (don’t fill to the rim — liquids expand) and check beforehand that the jar has no visible damage (cracks/chips).
Does the EcoSeal Pro need batteries or a power source?
No — the EcoSeal Pro has a rechargeable battery and is charged via the included USB-C cable.
How exactly does the EcoSeal Pro work?
The cordless EcoSeal Pro is super easy to use. Screw the lid onto your preserving jar, place the EcoSeal Pro over it, and switch it on. Since standard lids aren’t airtight without a vacuum, the EcoSeal Pro can pull air out of the jar past the lid. As soon as a vacuum forms, the lid’s rubber lip is pressed against the jar rim by negative pressure and seals it airtight.
How long does sealing take?
Vacuum sealing takes 20–40 seconds depending on the jar size.
Milk it!
What’s the best way to store my homemade creations?
Most easily in a clean jar in the fridge. Many people use the EcoSeal Pro to store the drink airtight (and optionally vacuum-sealed). In general: Store your beverage the way the recipe requires — cool, clean, and well sealed.
How much do I get per batch?
One full run yields about 1.3 liters — that’s the standard amount for almost all recipes. Less only makes limited sense, because the rotor and ingredients may not get enough liquid and the consistency can suffer.
How fast is Milk it!?
Most programs run for about 25–30 minutes — perfect to do something else in the meantime. If you’re in a hurry, choose RAW mode: In about 3 minutes, the drink is cold and blended.
Do I need to strain it afterwards?
No — the built-in filter basket automatically separates pulp and drink. You don’t need an extra nut-milk bag and there’s no extra step.
What happens if the device overheats or foams over?
Milk it! has built-in safety mechanisms for these cases: It can stop automatically or reduce power if something isn’t right. Please still use it as instructed and place it on a stable, level surface.
What can I make with Milk it!?
Much more than just nut- or grain-based drinks: soups (smooth or chunky), smoothies, overnight oats, baby food, or even cocktails — your creativity has no limits. You’ll find ideas and step-by-step guides in our recipes.
How much effort is cleaning?
Super easy: Add water and a drop of dish soap, start the Clean mode — and within minutes the device is clean again. Then just rinse briefly, done.
